Hello, I’m considering switching my homepage template from Pinterest-style to Magazine. For that to work, however, the Magazine template would need to be able to display unique articles only – e.g., not displaying articles two or three times if they have multiple categories. Can the template handle that? Looking at the Magazine demo the same articles are repeated a lot of times.
This has been discussed a few times around here. The new ‘offset’ parameter (Kleo 4.0 coming soon) along with the category and tag filters in the news and posts shortcodes will allow you to display unique articles.

Can someone tell me whether the 3.9 update addressed this issue? As far as I can tell the answer is no.

Did you update K-elements to 4.0? That’s where the shortcodes are. And yes, the offset parameters are in there. Make sure you update all required plugins by going to WP Admin > appearance > install plugins.
