What exactly does the numerical field do? I’m talking about the option in Sweetdate > Buddypress. I’ve watched the setup videos and searched the forum, but I can’t find an answer. From what I can tell, I could potentially use it for the “height” field, which is what I want to do.

    Hi,

It refers to the field you want the search form to treat as an interval, for example if you select there your height field, it will provide you two search boxes to enter a range a values for the search.

This can be used just for one field for the moment.

Thanks for the quick response. Good to know I can use this field for what I want.

Using height as the numerical field, is it possible to use feet & inches? The numbers in metric would be in the proper sequence (160, 161, 162 cm for example) , whereas with feet & inches it would be like 5’1, 5’2, 5’3, so not exactly actual sequential numbers.

Also, how do I make the two search boxes appear in the search page? If I select height as a numerical field from Sweetdate>Buddypress, will the search boxes automatically appear?

    Hi,

Yeah, if you select the height as numeric field the range input boxes should appear.

It doesn’t matter what you enter as values as long as they are only numbers.

    Cheers

If the height is shown as feet and inches, then they won’t be only numbers. I’ll have apostrophe signs, like 5’5″ for example. Would the system be able to recognize this as a regular number and put them in the correct order? Or would I have to use metric measurements as those are only numbers?

    Hi,

It won’t work in that case, as how the setting name reference it has to be a full numeric value, only numbers are accepted.

    Cheers

Hmmm ok so it would only work with metric measurements then. Thanks for the explanation.
