    Hello,

I have my site running great but when I wanted to edit sweetdate-child/functions.php I saw that it gives me an error stating “This theme is broken. The parent theme is missing. Please install the “sweetdate” parent theme.” However, I can still see the files for the child template.

I have both folders in “wp-include/themes” but when I go to “Appearance > Themes” I only see one sweetdate theme and it seems to be the main one, there is no child theme listed that I can activate.

I saw that in my wp-include/themes folder both are double nested, but I am not sure if that is causing the issue.

    Exa:
    wp-includes/themes/sweetdate/sweetdate
    wp-includes/themes/sweetdate-child/sweetdate-child

Please let me know how I can solve this issue without messing with my current work that I have done on the site .

Hi, You should have the themes like this:
    wp-content/theme/sweetdate
    and
    wp-content/theme/sweetdate-child

and it is wp-content/ not wp-includes/

Backup any files before deleting something
