Hi,
I’m getting a lot of fake account creation through the Facebook registration tool. Most of them are linked with weird domains like @163.com.
Do you have any recommendation on how to avoid this? Here are some ideas I’ve had:
- There are great nocaptcha re-captcha plugins, but they only work with forms, could they be integrated once the Login with Facebook button is clicked?
- Could there be a black list of domains somewhere? So far I’ve only had 2 domains for about 60 accounts, that would already reduce the work considerably.
- There is a somewhat outdated (but apparently still working plugin) https://wordpress.org/plugins/rename-wp-login/ to rename wp-login (hoping to get the bots away), however the links are all in the html code of the homepage (see below with links in bold).
So any idea would be great.

No one of that features is not included in our theme you should create that functionalities or you can search for some plugins, a plugin that you can test it to can block the user email domains it’s : https://wordpress.org/plugins/ban-hammer/Cheers

Thanks for your response. I installed Ban Hammer as you recommended. It works great for users trying to register using the http://domain.com/register page, but not with the facebook registration that comes with your theme. How could we also have the users created with the one-click facebook registration tool from kleo checked against the Ban Hammer black list ?

I haven’t used the ban hammer, you can ask about this situation the plugin author or you can search and test for another plugins

So if I read between the lines, I understand that 7th Queen is not interested in making the “sign-in with Facebook” functionality compatible with any black list or spam prevention tool. Well, ok then…

You understand what you want, in wp repository, the plugin that I have suggested for you is not only one spam prevention tool, I,ve suggested to you to try another similar plugin but you don’t you want!
PS : We cannot offer support and implementations for your custom project and for the functionalities that you want to achieve and are not related to the theme.
We will take into consideration that issue that you have reported, but this will not be solved now… as you want and need for your project and will be added to end of the improovment list and when it goes the task turn we will investigate and fix, I cannot you give you an ETA.

Thanks, I’m happy to know you will consider this for future updates as I think many others could benefit from it. In the mean time I’ve looked at the plugin “WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam” https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-spamshield/ and the Kleo Kacebook registration appears in its log so it could be effective. Time will tell.
