I see there is a new version of the Theme with a couple of changes. Now how do i update the safest and easiest way without losing any of my content? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks for the great theme!
ANSWER:
Hi,
To update the theme you can do it automatically by entering your username and API key in Sweetdate -> Miscellaneous and the update should appear in your Admin at Updates.
Another way is to re-download the theme from TF and replace the theme files. If you haven’t made any changes to main theme files then you should be fine. Always use the sweetdate-child theme as your active theme.

I received an email from Envato telling me there is an update to your theme. I downloaded the update locally. However, when logged in to my site in WordPress, there is no reference to an update. WordPress says the theme is up-to-date yet I have not updated it. Should I run the update manually through FTP?
July 18, 2013 at 04:59 #720SQadminKeymasterYes please do a manual update via FTP untill we test the issue.
Thank you.
Make sure to backup data just in caseHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionJuly 23, 2013 at 16:25 #854NozParticipantHi !
Theme is now 1.4 and I would like to upgrade the theme FROM WP admin
I run v1.1 and had previously upgraded first release from wp (have set ThemeForest user and API).
BUT I can’t do the same now to upgrade to v1.4. Have NO LINK to upgrade in WP Admin :
– WP says theme is update, but it is not…
– SweetDate settings says “V1.4 is out. If you haven’t upgraded please do!!!” but gives no link to upgradeI use a child theme…
Thanks.

And secondly i have not created a child theme, can i create one now when i have customized the “parent theme” and still not loose any content?
August 14, 2013 at 15:54 #1388SQadminKeymasterHi,
Check out the documentation:
https://archived.seventhqueen.com/documentation/sweetdatewp/#!/theme_options
If you have modified files from the parent theme then you can copy those particular files to sweetdate-child theme in the same exact folder structure.
If you copy all the files there you should be fine.
Always is advisable to make a backup of your files. We have included a starting child theme in the package downloaded from TF -> WordPress folder.

August 14, 2013 at 16:08 #1390SQadminKeymasterYes you can.

Or what to do?
January 22, 2015 at 17:29 #43038AbeKeymaster@boulderdash
child theme doesn’t have version and it doesn’t get updated. You only update parent SweetDate theme and if you done all the customizations in the child then they won’t be lost but please make backupsHi there!!!
