if I am using Visual composer, for example, the short code text, because it’s the first text on the page,  shows up in the article preview. How can I customize what shows up in the preview snippet for any article or page?

Using what element from visual composer ? provide a screenshot that shows what you want to achieve.

hey thanks for responding so fast 🙂 I went to do a screen shot and you are correct, the Visual composer content doesn’t show up in the preview like I thought on the kleo theme. It’s showing up on things like Facebook that pulls the code directly… I fixed that with yoast SEO snippet editor.

Related, however – screenshot attached. Sometimes I have the first content at the top of page for styling or page layout reasons. here is a relevant example: https://solutions.borderstates.com/?s=eaton

you can see in this article preview the text that is used to create the isotope filters at the beginning of the page. They need to stay at the top of the pae for design. https://solutions.borderstates.com/eaton-cooper-power/

but I would like to draw in come custom text instead: “Vendor resource page. Brochures, fliers, case studies & white papers.”

I used the snippet editor in Yoast SEO premum to add this: “Vendor resource page. Brochures, fliers, case studies & white papers.”

How can I edit my template to pull that snippet into the text that shows in the summary in search results, ect…? I’m guessing it’s a line in functions that says something like “if yoast snippet exists, use that in the div class=”entry-summary”, instead of pulling the first 20 words from the article”

    Hi,

You can put your desired text in the post preview using post excerpt field from post backend if this fields doesn’t exist you should click on screen options and to check.
