    Hi,
    You can try http://buddydev.com/buddypress/bp-chat-a-facebook-like-chatting-plugin-for-buddypress/
We haven’t fully tested it but looks promising

I install this plugin to see what would happen as it would make this theme the ultimate experience. It did install correctly but altered the theme layout considerably by changing the column width and the few style items. It also gave this error below. Would you consider putting a chat onto the theme?

Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in /home/content/99/11448799/html/test/wp-content/plugins/bp-chat/bp-chat/bp-chat-business-functions.php on line 256 and defined in /home/content/99/11448799/html/test/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 992

    Hi,
That plugin is beta unfortunately and I don’t know that it can be relied on. There is a paid plugin that is really great and we saw it integrated in some implementations of the theme. The plugin is named Comet chat if you want to take a look(don’t mean to advertise that plugin, it is just a suggestion)

If i buy a chat plugin like lets say “Comet chat” . How can i restrict it to only a certain membership level?

    Hi,
Cometchat adds a javascript and css fie to render the chat, so a condition can be added to add or not those files so if an user isn’t a member then the chat won’t appear

This is the code that goes in header.php.
Use the child theme for any template changes so copy header.php to sweetdate-child folder and make the changes there:

So i should not install sweetdate-child.zip? just copy header.php to sweetdate-child folder then add it to my server? Where exactly in my server? wp-contents/themes/sweetdate/

Hi Sqadmin, If my website is starting from the ground should I get the Basic Cometchat or professional? what do you think? any advice?

Hi, I think it is a matter of choise. If you think the extra things in the professional version will help you then its worth. I think talking with Facebook friends and an unbranded version would be nice for the users to have. You should see what it means to have an active Cometchat license to be able to use Facebook chat

You should use neither and go with Arrowchat, much better IMO.

    Hi,
You should talk with your hosting since all of what you illustrated seems related to them.
You should try doing the upload via a FTP client like Filezilla.

    Hi,
You have two slashes in the path to cometchat. It should be just one, like /cometchat/cometchatcss.php
And make sure cometchat is in yourwebsite.com/cometchat/*

My friend, I installed cometchat in my website, how can I block members from Silver and Gold memberships to use this feature? How can I allow members from Platinum and Trial to use it?
    Note: Trial 30 days.

    Thanks Sqadmin,
    Regards,

    Hi,
Yes you can limit access to cometchat by wrapping their code in header.php like this:
