I’ve used the example content supplied with the theme to construct the Groups Masonry layout as the main page for users to browse groups. My Groups have avatars that are a colour with some typography over the colour to say what that group is. The original size of the avatar uploaded is 800×800 px. However in this masonry style layout – regardless of whether I select rounded or squared – the avatars are blurry.
How can I resolve this? Is it a bug with the shortcodes in the theme?

Hi, It could be related to a setting of yours related to the avatar size. Take a look in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php and see if you have something defined that changes the size of the thumbnail or if the file exists
