Hi – I am using all of the wonderful Kleo themes: social network, store, directory, etc. My question is how to get the breadcrumb to show the landing page for each section. The breadcrumb does not show Home > Directory >> Specific Page. Instead it shows Home >> Specific Page. So there is no way to use the breadcrumb to return to the Directory landing page. Home will take the user back to the site homepage. How can I add Directory into the breadcrumb to allow the user to get back to the Directory landing page?

    Thank you!

Hello, if you set parent pages and child pages they will appear under parent pages at the breadcrump, you can do so at Pages and using quick edit 🙂

Hi Laura – The issue I am having is that the breadcrumb goes directly from Home to a Child Page and it skips the Parent page.

    For example:
I would like this to be the breadcrumb: Home > Directory >> Health >>> ABC Health Provider
What shows instead is: Home >> Health >>> ABC Health Provider. It is missing the Directory page.

If the user clicks on Home, hoping to go back to the Directory homepage, instead they go to the homepage for the entire site. The Directory page does not appear in the breadcrumb at all.

Since the Shop also has a Health section, the breadcrumb there is exactly the same: Home >> Health. It skips the Shop parent page.

I think this may be a Kleo quirk…? Possibly because Kleo sees each of these Parent pages as potential “home” pages. How do I get around this? I have never seen this type of breadcrumb behavior before.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

The kleo follows the permalink structure to generates breadcrumb.

I think geodir excludes the directory slug : https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/

Try to ask them on forum support

    Cheers

Thanks Radu. The same is true with the store, so it runs across the Kleo sections. So the Home > Health breadcrumb is the same for both the Store and GeoDir health sections. So, do I need to check with WooCommerce as well for their breadcrumb? There is no way to adjust on Kleo?

Thank you Radu. We will try this. However, the issue is not only for GeoDirectory with the CPTs, but all of the “home” pages in Kleo – Shop, News, eLearning, Directory. This seems like a good issue for Kleo to be able to address organically within itself.

Here is an example behavior path:

    1) I am on my homepage, all is good.
    2) The site detects my location and auto-directs me to the Directory landing page, which creates a location-based URL once it detects my location. This was not desired behavior. I still wanted to be on the site homepage.
    3) I click on the location-based URL and delete the location text to just leave my main site domain. I hit enter.
    4) I am taken to the “News” landing page, not my site homepage. Why? Because the website sees “Home” as being the News page, or the Shop page, or the Directory page, or the actual site homepage. There are many “Homes” to choose from.
    5) I believe this is happening because most users will choose only only of Kleo’s many fine modules to work with, whereas I am trying to put them all together. As mentioned above, the breadcrumb is missing the main landing page for each section, e.g., what I WANT is:
    home > NEWS > health
    home > DIRECTORY > health
    home > SHOP > health
Instead these ALL have the same URL of home > health. It is missing the page in between.

As how I said kleo follows the permalink structure and I recommend you to test the plugin and to configure it: https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/custom-permalinks/
