ParticipantHi all,
Is it difficult to tweak Kleo showing category label on each post in masonry post grid?
For “category label” I mean the same graphic effect used on your “News highlight” widget when a category is chosen.
Thank you in advance

Hi Laura, without reinventing the wheel, it’s ok having the blue label styled exactly as in your news highlight widget (see my previous attachment).
PS
I have to renew my Kleo support subscription for one year but I cannot find a link through the site. Can you help me?

ModeratorHello, sadly the only thing to change is the background of the label and test style with css

ModeratorHello, i mean that the ones that have the category label, cant be changed to graphic, only background color 🙂
Category labels are only available for those elementsHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionSeptember 16, 2017 at 08:07 #173883Cafonauta
ParticipantLaura there is a misunderstanding with our language.
Where did I ask to change category label in a graphic?
The news highlight widget has an option to show a blue category label on the first post (only if at least one category is chisen). It’s a small blue flag with the category name inside. I know that it’s made via css.
I asked you if you can explain me how to have that blue category label on every post into the kleo post widget aka masonry grid.
I know that is a mod but you wrote that is feasible and you can guide me.September 18, 2017 at 02:12 #173971Laura
ModeratorHello, i’m sorry for the misunderstanding 🙂 I thought you wanted to change the style of it, i can take a look at the others posts to show category but i would need ftp access 🙂

ParticipantThank you Laura,
Below your site credentials.
I’m trying a new kind of home page with only (nearly) a huge Kleo Posts widget with several categories filtered (all categories excepts “news” category displayed in a separate container). Articles will be ordered by date BUT I would like to have the opportunity to have the blue category label on each post so it’s clear for the user to which category they belong. (I can see the category in the post metadata but it’s not fancy and visible as the blue label on the featured image)
All of this is already possible with this amazing theme except the blue label category name that is something that optionally appear only for the first post in the “News Highlights” widget.I see that the css class which render the blue label is the “label” class. E.g.
<span class="label">HEALTH & FITNESS</span>Of course the News highlights widget adds the category name on Post featured image…
How to add this nice behavior on the Kleo Posts widget?
I’m experimenting so eventually the mod should be removable.
PS
This would be a nice option to have in a next Kleo release: a check button to display the blue label if more of one category is selected…Site credential:

ModeratorHello, i have been working on it but the templates are very different so i would need to edit the whole posts template, i suggest using highlight element instead and just use 1 so it only show feature with category 🙂

ParticipantHi Laura,
such a shame. I took for granted that it would be possible with a little effort. I was wrong.
I suggest using highlight element instead and just use 1 so it only show feature with category
I don’t get how it would be possible. I’m doing a page which displays maybe 50 posts from all categories all mixed together but ordered by date. Actually a simple blog page. There is no fixed position for one category. Post date order will place them inside the page.
Hereafter a page sample made with Photoshop. Right now the category is displayed as metadata below the image (yellow highlight) while I would like having the blue category label on post image (I added it with Photoshop).
I don’t understand how I can obtain a page like this with highlight element.Anyway. Thank you for spending you time on my request.
In a future update It would be nice having an option on Post element to display category in this fancy way.Bye

ModeratorHello, i see, with the highlight element you could just add 1 at each column, so only the highlight post appears, and have a different order setting for each column so it doesnt show the same post.
Right now that is the only way to have that element there. Because the gallery label its more complicated to addHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionSeptember 26, 2017 at 15:47 #174816Cafonauta
ParticipantOk, thanks.
I hope to see it implemented in a future release
