I just debugged this and this seems to be the cause.
Whenever i do the following
SweetDate–> Miscellaneous –> Development mode –> Off
The slider automatically switches from fullscreen display to smaller boxed display.

Also, if you are already checking this, could you please let me know why the template is loading mixed content and causing https not to appear? it says the site has mixed content – and this is only currently with the default theme content.
