Can’t get into dashboard

Hi,

I have installed your theme and Buddypress with bbpress to run a forum. Each user has two roles (one is for WP; and aother one is for forum) When I assign “author” (that is standard WP role) to the user he can’t get into dashboard to publish a post. All the time I try to visit the dashboard the website redirects me to the profile page. Though I see a “Add” button in the header toolbar, but I can’t get inside. Only user with administrator role can access the dashboard. But I need author and editor.

My htaccess file is standard, I have not changed it.

What can be a problem?
