ParticipantHello,
2 questions:
1. How long time does it take before the theme gets automatically updated since you have filled in the Envato API-key in Theme Options? If there is a new theme update available before I fill in the API-key, doesn’t it update until next new SweetDate update??
2. If I want to update manually….Do I go to C-panel > File Manager > wp-content > themes > sweetdate?
I saw in some text that you wrote: Connect to server. How do I do that?
Anyway….Do I click on the Sweedate folder and upload the update, or do I open the Sweetdate folder and then upload the update???Thanks

ModeratorHello 🙂
1- It doesn’t automatically update, it brings in the updated and you click to update it 🙂 You can also use envato toolkit plugin
2- You can update manually as said at point 1, with envato toolkit, it will show updates and you click to updateHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 8, 2018 at 15:01 #190927Oceanglim
ParticipantNow I updated Sweetdate just by clicking on “update theme” in admin panel.
It says it updated successfully, but look at the screenshot!!
All my members are gone in Members Directory!!! (They are still in the wp-admin though)I am now asking my webhost to restore my site to latest backup, but then I need to try again. Do you have any idea about why this happened and what to do about it??
GREATFUL for your help

ModeratorHello, are your users still at the admin dashboard under Users ? If so, it may be only a member counter issue, try by going to Tools – Buddypress – Check reset member count and activity

ParticipantHello,
I did the update again, this time on a subdomain just to try.Same thing happened. All members dissapeared except mine (but still in admin-panel).
Home page broke. Looks like Page Builder cells gets partly behind the front image.I have tried all I can think of.
– Deactivated all plugins except BuddyPress
– Deactivated and activated BuddyPress
– Tried to change settings in Theme Options
– Made a new page with Members template.
– Pressed the repair tools in Tools > Buddypress
but still the issue remains.I think you are a lot better than me to debug this as you developed the theme update.
I have a new fresch copy of my website on a subdomain, so you can make the update again on the subdomain and se what happens and then try to debug it. I made the update via Envato Toolkit.

ParticipantNo, I have not!
As I wrote, I have made a new fresch copy at staging.bildafamilj.nu so you, yourself can do the update again, and see exactly what happens to the site.
Please do the update on staging.bildafamilj.nu so you can see exactly the problems.
I did the update via Envato Toolkit. Please

ParticipantHi and thanks Radu,
1. Just to make sure:
From what I can read in the link you sent me…The issue was about a Search Form / Register Form not working properly? So you beleive the same thing could cause my issues with Members Page and the broken Home Page?In that case, should I remove those search form settings in Theme options BEFORE or AFTER I do the update? Does it matter?
2. What do you mean by: “Old templates with 3.0 theme version will not work!”? Old templates? What old templates?
3. Are many sites with the new theme having the problem with signup-emails?
I saw somebody logged in to by subdomain yesterday. Just to make sure it was you?
Did you try to make any update? Thanks

Participant…In additon to my above message, I saw in my ticket #191277 that I by mistake have reveiled my credentials in public, and as I have had inlogs there that hasn’t been me since yesterday (I don’t know if you have been there?), I have changed password:

ModeratorHi,
1. Yes..
2. I mean if you had overwritted the structure of any of the parent php file in child like members.php it may cause issues !
3. Don’t know! not familiar. if the issue happens using default theme is not theme related.
Cannot see any update button nowhere.
So do the next, update theme and buddypress+rtmedia+all plugins then follow my advices from the link in previous ticket, by unchecking from the homepage tab and the rest.
IF stil have problems de-activate all plugins except buddypress and bp profile search and check.
Cheers

Participant– OKay, thanks, I’ll do that!
– Yes, I have changed the text in the Register Form at Front Page. I did that in Register.php / Home Register Form.php Form in Parent theme. I told Laura about that. But I cannot longer find those files…??
– Maybe you didn’t see any Update button, cause I ususally deactivate plugins when I am not using them. Envato Toolkit is probably deactivated. Just to activate.
Cheers,

ModeratorIf they was in parent theme and you had updated the theme they will be loose.
Activated envato toolkit but the update not appears yet maybe i should wait some time ?
Let me knowCheers

ParticipantYes, I know. Laura promised to help me change the text in the Register Form, after update.
I found the Update button in Envato Toolkit:

ParticipantRadu, thank you so much for investigating my site and wonderful that you found the problem!! Thank you!
I am trying to figure out some things around the update procedure…
1. I can see on my “staging.bildafamilj.nu”, where you have made the test update of the theme, that most of my plugins were deactivated and my front page all in a mess.
Did YOU deactivated all plugins (except Buddypress), or do they get deactivated automatically during update?? Should I deactivate the plugins before doing the real update?2. I have so far built my front page in “Page Builder” and “Black Studio TinyMCE Widget” and “Spacer”. With this update of SweetDate one must rebuild everything in Elementor??
Cheers,
JenniApril 10, 2018 at 16:13 #194298Radu
ModeratorHi,
1. If they are de-activated you should activate back, maybe i’ve forgotten them, activate them back.
2. Yes, from 3.0 version we are using elementor
Cheers
