I’ve got the latest version of the theme installed and its displaying the following error on the activity stream page:
[DOM] Found 21 elements with non-unique id #rtmedia_upload_nonce: (More info: https://goo.gl/9p2vKq)
I’ve done some troubleshooting and was able to determine that it seems related to the rtMedia plugin. The impact of this error is that attempting to post a comment to an existing post of the activity stream is not permitted. I was able to verify this by deactivating the rtMedia plugin, at which point I am then allowed to post a reply comment to an existing comment on the Activity page. The same error existed on the previous version to this one.
How can you assist?
March 10, 2018 at 17:40 #191225Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Sorry to hear you’re having issues with rtMedia, I can see the errors in console. To confirm “The impact of this error is that attempting to post a comment to an existing post of the activity stream is not permitted” is true when the plugin is activated?
Thanks,
Kieran

March 12, 2018 at 06:08 #191442Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I need to check this out on the front-end and back-end to see what might be causing the issue. I tried to login using the details provided but the username is returning an ‘Invalid Username’ error. Please update this ticket, in a private reply, with admin credentials for you site so I can look into this for you.
Thanks,

March 12, 2018 at 06:49 #191444Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Thanks for updating the ticket with login credentials for the front-end. I know you have the nonce errors in the console, I can see this too in the demo content locally when I create a new post and it is being generated by rtMedia.
However, this is not causing the reply error. When I access your site I seem to be in a state of limbo between logged in and logged out, I am also able to access the register page whilst logged in. I think this is being caused by the caching you have on either WordPress or at the host level. Also I think that somewhere, either in a caching or performance plugin, there is something compressing or interfering with js files.
Can you try completely disabling all caching on WordPress, disable all performance and minification plugins, disable all caching via your host and purge and disable any CDN. Once this is done please purge your front-end cache (Ctrl+F5) to see if this issue persists.
Kieran

March 17, 2018 at 05:19 #192019khiadminParticipantAlso, I want to note that with the deactivation of the rtMedia plugin there remains this error displaying on the activity page:
[DOM] Found 20 elements with non-unique id #_wpnonce_new_activity_comment:
<input type=”hidden” id=”_wpnonce_new_activity_comment” name=”_wpnonce_new_activity_comment” value=”5534ed1a86″>March 17, 2018 at 15:53 #192047Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have marked the above reply as private as per your request.
I will refer this ticket to one of our developers to look into where the issue with _wpnonce_new_activity_comment is coming from within the theme. They’ll be in touch with you as soon as they can, Monday to Friday, East European Time.
Please update this ticket with working credentials for your site as both credentials stated within this ticket no longer work.
Thank you for your continued patience,
Kieran

March 17, 2018 at 16:28 #192054khiadminParticipantThank you.
I’ve re-checked the credentials and they seem to be working just fine. Please let me know which in particular you are having problems with and I will double check.
March 17, 2018 at 16:42 #192055Kieran_SQModeratorScrap that it seems the user starting cha*** is actually working, previously I got an error stating the username was not valid.
Thanks,
Kieran

March 19, 2018 at 17:32 #192329RaduModeratorHi,
Looking in our theme for those divs but they cannot be found i think they are generated by the rt Media plugin
I recommend you to ask this on their support forum.
Cheers

I wanted to point that out just in case it makes a difference as your above screenshot it for the Kleo codebase which I’m unfamiliar with. Also, when I deactivate your theme and install the WordPress 2017 theme, the error stops displaying. So I’m pretty confident that the error is being generated by your theme. Please advise otherwise.
March 22, 2018 at 17:52 #192712RaduModeratorSorry for that, here’s a screenshot for searching in sweetdate theme
We had informed rtMedia about this from the beginning, you can ask them also !
Also that cannot be found in sweetdate theme
Anyway there is no functionality issue..
Cheers
R.Hi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 22, 2018 at 18:07 #192716khiadminParticipantI totally disagree with your conclusion. First of all, I don’t have this issue when I attempt to use the pluging with another theme. This tells me that the problem is with your theme/plugin. If I go to rtMedia and request that they fix this, they will simply request that I return to you as it seems to be a compatibility issue with the theme (since it does work fine with most other plugins).
Second. to your comment of “Anyway there is no functionality issue” that is also incorrect. There is a functionality issue. It was outlined at the start of this email exchange and I will re-explain here again. This error is preventing any reply comments from posting on the activity stream. To be more specific, if a user that navigates to the activity stream attempts to reply to a previously posted comment, he/she is not allowed. The “Post” button will not work. However, removing the rtMedia plugin will permit me to enter the comment. Again, I’ll reiterate that I do not have to removed the rtMedia plugin from the 2017 plugin in order for me to post a reply-comment to a post on the activity stream.
Looking forward to your response.
March 22, 2018 at 19:42 #192739RaduModeratorHi,
We will investigate tomorrow in depth this issue ( [DOM] Found x elements with non-unique id ).
The second thing related to the replying to the comments it may be caused by the paginatiation tiat is no ajax, it’s directly via urlYou will click reply or comment on our demo you will see it works, also if you press load more a new content will be pulled in the same page without refresh https://seventhqueen.com/demo/sweetdatewp/activity/
We have also those errors in console related to [DOM] Found x elements with non-unique id and the functionality isn’t affected at all.
On your install if you press Load more at the bottom of activity page will open this link https://khiadmin.staging.wpengine.com/activity/?acpage=2 instead of pulling new content there.
If you had child theme and other plugins that can interfere with buddypress de-activate all except buddypress and see if it works as it should.
Let me know if it works to comment/reply with all plugins except Buddypress and child theme off
Cheers
RHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 22, 2018 at 21:19 #192748khiadminParticipantI’m not understanding what you are wanting me to do. I’ve got the latest version of the theme installed and have not made any modifications to the activity code. I think you are saying that if I click the “Load More” button that I then will be able to reply to a comment. If that’s what you are insinuating, then that’s unacceptable UX.
Also, as previously noted, I’ve already uninstalled all plugins that might interfere with your theme. Furthermore, I installed your Main/Parent theme and the problem persists. It seems that the only thing preventing this issue from happening is the deactivation of the rtMedia plugin.
March 23, 2018 at 16:05 #192798RaduModeratorHi,
We had contact the rtmedia team and we are in progress to fix the dom duplicated id’s next week i think
Cheers

However, you also noted that you think it might have to do with the pagination. Is there something that I am overlooking? I afraid that something might have been lost in translation.
March 26, 2018 at 17:19 #193072RaduModeratorHi
Actually the issue with the pagination isn’t related to the DOM duplicated ID’s, i’ve told you why you cannot posting, cuz on our demo we have those DOM errors but the layout it’s opperational.
So your posting problem comes from other place. Maybe some plugin? set all off except buddypress and check, update all, turn off child theme then checkCheers
RHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 28, 2018 at 04:12 #193243khiadminParticipantI’ve done some additional trouble shooting and it appears that you are right with regard to the issue not being related to the above mentioned nonce error. Instead, its related to the “Comment Media” setting located in rtMedia’s plugin. To recreate:
1. Navigate to rtMedia->Settings->BuddyPress(Tab)
2. Toggle Enable media in comment to ON & and save
3. Then navigate to the activity page and attempt to insert a picture to the comment reply.Expected Experience: that the uploaded picture and comment will be added to the activity stream.
Actual Experience: It appears that the picture is not loaded and any written comment is not posted. However, a check of the database will indicate that the file is uploaded to uploads/rtMedia/users/ folder. Please advise.
March 28, 2018 at 16:23 #193300RaduModeratorHi,
We had fixed this, today or tomorrow we will release a new theme update concerning this
Cheers
