How enable comments on (and edits to) Buddypress activity updates?

Hi – I am setting up Buddypress and making some initial activity updates to prepopulate the social network. I am not seeing the expected option to edit the text after posting, or to comment on post, delete post, or social share the post.

I did find a plugin from Buddyboss to edit the post, but that doesn’t seem to work either.

Can you help? Thank you!
