Hey guys,
I’ve just spend the last few hours trying to figure out why parts of my site don’t run properly anymore – unfortunately with no success other than that the culprit seems to be buddypress in combination with Kleo and the error is jQuery / js related. Here’s what’s happening:
On Safari and Windows Browsers, a variety of elements are blocked the moment I activate Buddypress. E.g. in my blog section, articles are not visible, despite being there. I can still hover over the links of the actual articles, but they are not displayed – see screenshot here. The menu also doesn’t collapse properly etc. so everything that uses js is somehow affected. On Chrome and Opera on Mac it however works all fine???
In my testing I literally deactivated all my plugins, I downgraded Kleo to 4.3.8, I downgraded Buddypress to 2.9.1 and then gradually updated to higher versions, the effect remains the same. I have no clue why, because it used to work fine until yesterday.
I did install the Facebook Pixel for Woocommerce Plugin earlier today, hence that might also be the culprit, but as I said, if I deactivate or delete it plus clearing the cache etc. – it all changed nothing. The moment I activate Buddypress, I have an issue as you can see in the screenshot, hence the Pixel thing might just be coincidence. Or it leaves some code somewhere even after being deleted, but I’m just speculating here.
Any pointers are more than appreciated!!!
Thank you so much in advance.

thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. In the end, I think the issue was that I downgraded from Buddypress 3.1 to an earlier version but the earlier versions did not work properly. Uninstalling and replacing it was the right idea!
Thanks so much, highly appreciated!
Kind regards, Philip
