I am using a wordpress child theme which I am customising. Now there is an update for my theme and the button is over the parent theme, not the child theme. If I accept the update will I still retain my design on the child theme?

    Search Form
I know I have deleted the search form by mistake on the child theme can I get this back from parent theme? I have already deleted my whole site plus wordpress several times when I was just starting to learn, but I am well underway with design and frightened of losing it. Thank you.

Hello, the child theme is never updated, so you can update the main theme without issues, any change at the child theme will stay there

The search form is just a shortcode you can get it at Users – Profile search and by editing the home page with elementor its found at widgets
