member types not sorting and Profile redirect not working

I have tried to implement two features to our Buddypress site and followed the documentation provided for

1. Adding Member Types – https://archived.seventhqueen.com/video-tutorials/setup-buddypress-member-types-on-kleo-theme.html

2. Redirecting profile after login – https://archived.seventhqueen.com/general/article/redirect-users-when-logging-in-or-logging-out

After adding member types, it shows the new member type link with the count next to it, however when I click the link, it still shows all members.

For the redirect to profile after login, it still redirects to the admin area after logging in using the popup login form.

Any help or suggestions you can provide are appreciated.
