Hello,
We are using Kleo for our forums. The last update carried some errors that we have been unable to resolve. I asked the form moderators to write up a description of the errors. — attached to this ticket.
Please have a look.
Thank you!

Thanks for contacting us about several issues that you’re facing. Can you update this ticket, in a private reply, with admin credentials for your site – only you and I will see these details. I do not currently have access to the general support@ email account.
There are a lot of different things covered within the various PDFs and I think it would be best to first check a few things. Please can you do the following
– Disable all caching (keep disabled)
– Ensure KLEO, K Elements, BuddyPress and bbPress are updated to the most recent releases
– Disable all plugins except for K Elements, BuddyPress and bbPress
– Switch from KLEO Child theme to the KLEO parent themeFor each of these steps please clear your browsers cache (Ctrl+F5) and test each issue again.
If X issue disappears when you disable all other plugins then one of the plugins you disabled is causing a conflict with bbPress/BuddyPress – enable them again, one by one, until you find the plugin causing the issue.
If X issue disappears when you switch to the KLEO parent theme then you have custom code that is effecting the function of bbPress/BuddyPress. You’ll need to make a backup of your KLEO Child theme changes and remove one file at a time, testing after each removal, until you find the changes causing the issue.
If you still have issues with some or all of the points raised after carrying out this testing then please go to WP Admin > Themes and install/activate the Twenty Seventeen default WordPress theme. Clear your browsers cache to ensure you have the latest files. Do some or all of the issues persist?
Please detail below your findings for each point.
Thanks,
Kieran

February 16, 2019 at 18:35 #218718Kieran_SQModeratorFollow up:
bbPress reply ID’s are generated as a reply is created and is not specific to the topic or forum that you’re in.
If you’re in a topic where the first reply has an ID of 0004 but the second reply has an ID 0010 then that means there have been 5 other replies, in other topics, in the time between the two replies within that single topic.
This is not related to the theme and is a function of bbPress. It may be possible, though inadvisable, to change this behaviour but it would take considerable time and coding to achieve. You would need to hire a developer to achieve this for you as it is beyond the scope of the support offered with the theme.
Thanks,
Kieran

February 16, 2019 at 19:18 #218721Joe PierceParticipantI asked Vicki to check again now that everything is updated, mother theme activated, cache disabled.
February 16, 2019 at 20:04 #218723Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
We can only provide support via this forum so you would have to share your access with Vicki so they might join in too.
Did you carry out the plugin disable test as well as switching to Twenty Seventeen to see if the issues are still present?
Thanks,
Kieran

February 17, 2019 at 01:51 #218741Joe PierceParticipantHello Kieran,
I haven’t tried disabling plugins and reverting to twentyseventeen yet, pending Vicki’s response. The forum is active and I need to avoid disruptions. Fortunately, it is the weekend so traffic is minimal.
You have answered issue #3. Thank you. I can’t replicate issue #2. Every reply link I hit behaves as expected. I asked Vicki to send me a URL/forward email to me to show me where I can see issue #1 and try the link.
Thank you very much for looking into this!
February 17, 2019 at 02:02 #218742Joe PierceParticipantHello again Kieran,
Can you replicate issue#2?
February 17, 2019 at 11:06 #218752Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I cannot replicate issue number 2 – issue number 1 may be related to a bug in rtMedia at the moment.

With rtMedia deactivated does the comment post as expected?
To test please keep rtMedia deactivated, go to any activity and leave a comment, refresh the page with Ctrl+F5 to clear the cache and see if the comment has posted.
Thanks,
Kieran

February 17, 2019 at 16:52 #218761Joe PierceParticipantHi Kieran,
From Vicki:
“Here is a URL for a topic reply : https://pulmonaryfibrosisnews.com/forums/forums/reply/16807/ … try clicking to reply to Chuck Harrison. When you do, you’ll notice a reply box does not show up after clicking “reply” in the top right corner of Chuck’s post. The only way you can reply is finding his post within the 6-Minute Walk Thread and *then* reply from there, but for threads that are 50+ pages long, this isn’t feasible for members.”When I did this, google console returned:
Uncaught ReferenceError: addReply is not defined
at HTMLAnchorElement.onclick (VM271:560)February 17, 2019 at 16:59 #218762Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I will assign this to one of our developers for review but I’m not sure this is actually a bug but rather how bbPress functions. They’ll be in touch with you as soon as they can, Monday to Friday, East European Time.
It’s important that you carry out the test in which you switch to Twenty Seventeen and test all of the issues to see if they’re theme related in the mean time.
Thanks,
Kieran

February 17, 2019 at 17:30 #218763Joe PierceParticipantHi again,
I disabled all plugins except for K Elements, BuddyPress and bbPress, and switched to twentyseventeen. Same console error same results.
February 17, 2019 at 17:40 #218764Joe PierceParticipantfyi — I tried a .js fix suggested here: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/threaded-replies-not-working/
didn’t work.
February 19, 2019 at 14:35 #218857RaduModeratorHi,
That meaning it’s something from their plugin and nothing from them theme since the issue happens using any other theme. And the plugin author should fix this in next version, you can try to use a previous version of bbpress.
Cheers

Thanks for your response. The issue is a BBPress bug, not a Kleo bug. Is it possible to ask your developers write a function to fix this error on some kind of paid customization basis?
Uncaught ReferenceError: addReply is not defined
at HTMLAnchorElement.onclick (VM383:663)
onclick @ VM383:663February 21, 2019 at 05:33 #218898Joe PierceParticipantbbPress support is non-responsive. Are you interested in providing a solution on some kind of paid customization basis?
thanks again!
February 22, 2019 at 14:34 #218908RaduModeratorHi,
the issue it’s caused by an error from reply.js from child theme from this file : https://pulmonaryfibrosisnews.com/forums/wp-content/themes/kleo-child/js/reply.js?ver=2.5.14-6684
Most sure if you will disable the child theme it will work as it should, so the developer who had rewrited the file into child should inspect this.
NOTE : found the issue, there it’s a text into a js file and that it’s wrong!! delete that
Cheers

Deleting the random text on reply.js fixed the issue.
Thank you very much for your great support!
