When I add superb search widget as an element in Visual Composer mdoe, it stacks below the slider. How do I add to overlay on top of the slider that I’m using on homepage?

Hello, we don’t have it with a revolution slider. See the documentation section where you can get the Pinterest style page content to put in your Editor in the Text tab.
If you want it over revolution slider then you probably have to take the search form shortcode and add it in revolution slider as a text layer and see how it goes.
