Hey,
I have tried to edit the search form on my home page, i have added a few posts and disabled the demo posts, i have chosen to only show “posts” when searching but for some reason it shows all my pages when searching for something.
my site is called http://www.thedesignshare.com try entering the word “type” or “design” in the search field and it comes up with random pages when I’ve specified that i only want posts to be shown.
any help would be much appreciated.

The live results (the list that expands under the search bar) only shows posts like it should. Specifying “posts” doesnt control what wordpress shows on the search results page only what’s displayed in the live results.
It should be easy enough to add with the pre_get_posts filter. I’ll work on that later and get back to you.

Hey Ben, I was able to get something working but not for all custom post types. I can give it to you if you just want that search bar to show results of standard wp posts.

@sharmstr Any idea on how to make search with non post type? Trying to get SabaiDiscuss to work with search 🙂 They, for whatever reason, did not use custom post type.
