Hi Support,
I’m a little unsure what this feature should do, can somebody please explain in detail?
I’ve created an account at geonames.org and inputted my username into Sweet Date. I’ve created a text profile field called ‘City’ as instructed and in the ‘Country Code’ setting have inputted GB for Great Britain as my site is only for the UK (we don’t use a Country field.)
Maybe I’m misunderstanding what this feature does, but I was hoping that the ‘City’ field would now automatically populate the users city when they registered. Anyway, nothing seems to happen, the field is always blank. Am I missing something here?
Thanks

1) In the instructions on Sweet Date is say to:
Geonames username
This field is required for the service to work. Get one from geonames.org and enable the free service from your accountNow, I have created an account with Geonames and have a username, but where do you enable the free service from your account? I can’t see that anywhere?
2) I have a City text field created and now a Country Drop Down Box. In the Country Drop Down Box I select the Country United Kingdom.
The City field remains blank?
January 22, 2015 at 21:08 #43081LauraModeratorHello, the city should be selected in Sweetdate > Buddypress
Geonames and Buddypress config are in attachments. Once you have the username set, it should work, in the city, type something like “Lo” and wait to see what it gets, like London.Geonames: http://www.geonames.org/manageaccount
Login and then click on enable free services.Hi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionLaura Solanes - Graphic Designer and Web Designer

Just one more thing. What I’d like to achieve is for the user to HAVE to select a city name from the list, rather than have the option to type what ever they like. Is it possible to force the user to select from the list of cities that are generated?
Thanks again
