Hi!
We are using Digital Access Pass (DAP) for our membership as as we needed to track affiliate sales as well.
Everything is connecting beautifully except for one thing: setting the redirect login URL to http:/thebiz.zone/members, as you do with the default BuddyPress setting, simply sends the member to the members directory, rather than to their own profile.
The direct link to a member profile would be http://thebiz.zone/members/MEMBERNAME/profile/
Is there a short code or ‘wildcard’ configuration that we can use in place of the membername that will be a direct link to the member’s profile once logged in?
Thank you!!
Melody

February 12, 2015 at 21:45 #45878melodyParticipantunfortunately, I don’t think that this will work as I have to actually set a default return URL in the DAP settings for each membership level.
A workaround would be to turn the admin ‘top bar’ on – but I do not want the login/register and WordPress links in the admin bar – is there a way to remove those and simply leave the link to the member dropdown menu in the top bar?
Thank you for all your help!

February 12, 2015 at 22:13 #45882sharmstrModeratorYes. Its been discussed several times. Today in fact. Its a common WP thing to do. Google it.
Or you can create your own menu. If you look at the Kleo section in Appearance – Menu, it will show you how to provide links to every section of the members profile.

February 12, 2015 at 23:12 #45894melodyParticipantI am referring to the Kleo option of “TOPBAR” which can be turned on or off in the options panel. This is NOT the same as the menus that you can create in the appearance section of WordPress.
Please see the screenshot attached to see what we are talking about – we want to remove the WordPress login since it is not relevant to anything – and the login/register links since it goes to the default WP pages – not the BP pages. It’s the top black bar, and can be turned on and off in the Kleo options.
I see no way to change this menu in Appearances – and we have tried everything that we have found in Google but it does not affect your particular ‘TOPBAR”

Either google “remove logo and login from wordpress admin bar”. That bar has nothing to do with Kleo except for the fact that Kleo gives you an option to turn it off. Its such a common WordPress question and request that they even have plugins for it.
Or turn it off completely and make the links yourself using either the top bar or the main menu.

February 13, 2015 at 00:13 #45914sharmstrModeratorHmmm. I still see it on your website. Do you need me to do it?

February 13, 2015 at 04:17 #45944melodyParticipantThe plugins do NOT address the specific changes we need – I know because I spent most of the day trying them out. We want the dropdown buddypress menu to stay and remove the login, register and WP link – which none of the plugins do. We tried more than a dozen and the majority focus on customizing the admin menu for the logged in user, within the dashboard.
And no, I am not asking you to do it. We’ll hire someone else to do it.
And there is no way to make a link to the drop down BP menu that is native to the WP admin bar that we have found so far.
