how do i fix this?

This issue seems to be generated by a plugin conflict or some custom code so, could you please try to deactivate all other plugins beside buddypress and see if the issue still persists ?
Also, you can make a test using the default wordpress theme and see if the issue is still present there.Let me know how it went.
