Hi in the home default kleo theme I can put groups and blog posts on the front page as per http://virtualrealitysa.com
But I can’t get these forums on the front page – http://virtualrealitysa.com/forums/
Please help?
Assuming you want all the other stuff PLUS a section that shows the forums, you can add a text block using Visual Composer and any of the bbpress shortcodes: https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
If you just want your home page to be your forum index, then go to appearance > reading and select your forum page.

The link I gave you had your answer. Its the very first shortcode [bbp-forum-index]. Just add a text block and put that shortcode in it.
