When using Visual Composer with Single Image in a column on its own, any attempt to put the width x height of the image I want fails and the image name instead of the image is displayed on the site.
So although it says “(Example: 200×100 (Width x Height))” it simply refuses any numbers I give it.
Made sure the numbers I enter are of a perfect ratio/proportion to the original size (so 2000×1000 trying 1000×500) but it’s simply NOT WORKING!
searched high and low and very surprised no one is having this issue, can it really just be me?

August 1, 2015 at 04:13 #71042fikishParticipantHelllo! I’m definitely running 4.5.3 VC and Full width image is NOT set.
In saying that, I’ve tried it both on/off and no good.Setting small/med/large/full works fine but large is too small and full is too big for my images.
Rather than resize, I’d like to input the width x height but that simply doesn’t work anywhere in any page using VC.
Not really sure where to go from there or what to look for…August 1, 2015 at 14:35 #71067sharmstrModeratorHad to think about this. I think VC will create a new image based on the size that you put in there. Since its only showing the image name, perhaps VC is having problems saving the new resized image to your server. That could be a permissions issue or even a jquery issue.
Can you update to Kleo 3.0.5 (released yesterday)? It comes with VC 4.6.1 so be sure to update that as well. If that doesnt fix the issue, respond privately with a link and admin credentials. Be sure to enable wp debugging as well. Then I’ll have a look.

So it’s been a while and in that time I’ve tried everything in my power to detect a permission issue as you suggested.
I have been unsuccessful in doing so but along the way, I found more little issues that got me stomped and surely not everyone else is having these problems, namely, attempting to edit an image produces broken links. So if I go to media library and click “edit” it shows a broken image link placeholder.
Here’s a posts that highlights the problem
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/edit-image-image-does-not-show-upWhat’s strange is that all signs point towards the theme or child theme. Have you encountered any issues like this? Inability to edit images is driving me crazy as I try to grow the site 🙁
Your help would be much appreciated
September 24, 2015 at 15:28 #79312sharmstrModeratorNo I havent. What *signs* are you referring to? Have you enabled the WP 2015 Theme and then tried to edit the image?

September 25, 2015 at 14:44 #79481fikishParticipantFound the issue.
It was php gd libraries not installed on servers.
Strange I didn’t come across that in any of the manuals/setup tools or hear of any reference to it.Hosting on Amazon instances with amazon boxes.
In any case, thank you kindly for your support.Good to note for future, trying to edit image sizes or edit images within wordpress can be a php gd issue but a lot of articles out there say it’s a problem with functions.php in main or child themes which threw me off entirely.
