I need to be able to filter which categories are shown on my blog page. Ideally I would like to have one blog page that has all of my categories except one, and then a second blog page that has the remaining one. However, at a minimum I need to be able to have just one blog page that I can display/not display certain blog posts from certain categories. How do I do this?

I’ve noticed that whenever setting my “Blog” page as the primary blog location in the “Reading” settings, my options for customizing the page disappear. Could this be part of the problem?

By “options for customizing the page disappear”, I mean I don’t have the text editor box available to me on the edit page anymore.

Hello, you can use a page builder for the blog, showing recent posts of sertain categories, then another page to show posts for only one category. But you will need to disable blog as post pages at Reading options.
Siteorigin pagebuilder is a good one
