Just a quick question today …. does “BuddyPress Default Data” plugin work with Kleo.
Or do you know of any other plugin that creates dummy memebers.
Its just that its difficult to attract members if the site looks empty.

Did you try it? All it does is import users info, right? That has nothing to do with Kleo so it shouldnt be an issue.

It definitely works with Kleo – I’ve just loaded a data set for testing. However, it’s not content you can use on a production site, it’s all very clearly dummy data – e.g the Groups are all movie names, such as “Transformers” and “The Lord of the Rings”. Any genuine members joining your site and seeing this will not be impressed…
A better option, I believe, would be to remove access to the Members and Group Directories at the start, and add your own legitimate daily content so new members have something to interact with, and then if the community is going to flourish it will build organically, and with a credible base!
Wish I read this post a bit sooner as I have just uploaded the plugin – and what you say is true.
Need to do a lot of work on it 🙂
The plugin has an option that lets you delete the dummy data, but be careful it removed all the users and data not associated with user id = 1 (this is usually the admin, unless you’ve changed it for security reasons). See more here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/clear-data
