Can you please help me save time searching and searching for the best way to do the following?
I need to create a page that will only display a group of members titled “Mentors”, with excerpts from their profiles and a link that takes the user to the Mentor’s full profile. Access to the to the page and the Mentor’s profile (outside the page) needs to be restricted to specific levels in Paid Memberships Pro.
This is important because one of the values of a paid membership on the website is access to the Mentors.
Thank you VERY MUCH!!

September 11, 2015 at 15:34 #77195AndreiModeratorHi @scottmriley,
From what I understand you need a custom members listing and unfortunately your requests are pretty custom so this will be a custom project. If you need a developer I can put you in contact with one of ours.
Cheers

Thank you for your response. My client cannot afford to pay a developer for custom code. I was hoping that there was a simpler method, as this is not all that complicated. You advertise this theme’s community / membership features as the “best”, so I would think this type of function would be pretty standard.
This theme also takes advantage of the Paid Memberships Pro plugin – but only the free version, which is available for any theme. They have an add on titled “Member Directory” that pretty much does what we need, but it’s only available with a yearly subscription that costs $197. That’s a little much for a simple plugin that is basically just 2 lines of code (according to them).
With all of the hype you out out there about the Kleo theme, I’m surprised that it is so insufficient.
Are you sure that there are not any functions in the theme or free plugins that will help?
Thanks,
ScottSeptember 12, 2015 at 01:24 #77267scottmrileyParticipantHow about this? I create the content, insert the images, include links in the directory page to the profiles pages, and create each profile page. Is there a way to just restrict access to those pages to certain membership levels?
September 13, 2015 at 04:31 #77369scottmrileyParticipantOkay, well if you’re just going to ignore me, I will have to let people know. I’ve tried really hard to work with you and be patient.
September 13, 2015 at 14:11 #77388AndreiModeratorI’m sorry but over weekend time we might respond with a little bit of delay, there is nothing personal and no one is ignoring you, we also have a response queue to deal with.
Back to your issues, PMPro is just an plugin with which we integrate by default and also on top of which we have already built some custom restrictions. Their paid addons are part of their business model and we cannot interfere with it.
Regarding member directory you could create some member types using buddypress, but again, in order to create custom restrictions for those member types you would need some custom development.
Here you can see a few details about buddypress member types: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqcy00YLZck
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Are there any known conflicts with the “Private Content” plugin?
Please provide me with a list of any third party content or user restriction plugins that integrate well with your Kleo theme.
Thank you.
September 15, 2015 at 12:14 #77758AndreiModeratorLimiting access just to certain member type profiles would be a custom job.
We only recommend Paid Membership Pro for now, but other content restriction plugins should work fine as well. You could test them and report us if you find any issues.Cheers
