Hi,
At my registration page I have two required username fields. One for WordPress itself and one for buddypress I think. How can I set to just fill out the one for wordpress and set the same username for buddypress as well? It’s really confusing for the user to set the username twice. Is this issue in common?
Buddypress couldn’t help me.Thanks!

It seems that the username field it’s added as optional field from here : http://localhost/dev/wp-admin/users.php?page=bp-profile-setup
replace localhost with your domain, just delete the field username from the link above.
Let me know if this solve your issue

Just create a new group of fields and then drag the username field to the new grup, then delete the entire new group.
That’s all
Let me know if it works.
