Just finished updating the Sweetdate themes and also updated Buddypress.  Now most of my pages are throwing a 404 error.  I have looked at the pages in WordPress and I don’t see any issues.  When I click on ‘view page’ it gives me the 404 error on most of my pages.  I need a fix soon.  Please help ASAP!

After doing some research about the issue, I think I have figured it out. The permalinks just needed to be set to default, then set back to where I had them previously. Now all the pages are normal again.

This is why I hate updating anything. There always seems to be issues after doing any kind of update, then you have to research on how to fix. Meanwhile I have hundreds of users on my site getting confused and new visitors giving up and leaving because nothing works.

BTW, is it ok to update to WordPress V. 4.4? And is there anything I need to know about issues, etc. before doing so?

Hi, yes wordpress sometimes need to just resave the permalinks

I should be fine but make a backup just in case some plugins cause problems.

Hi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solution
