Got this message below while following the instruction to import demo data on the slider. I suspect it has something to do with Bitnami restricting permissions or something due to security issues a while back. I’m not sure the prescribed fix for this.

    importing slider settings and data…

    Error: Could not create directory.

    Go Back

Not related. The slider installed. Now I can’t import anything (like demo data).

Its related in the fact that its probably a directory permissions issue. In digging through their code, it looks like they are trying to unzip the file in /uploads/rstemp/. It needs to be able to create rstemp, the later it deletes it. So, check for appropriate write permissions on wp-content/uploads.

I’m not an expert, but it looks like the permissions are set for the group and owner to have read, write and execute. See attached. This is a common problem, as I can see hundreds of posts about it with no solutions (or the wrong ones). Why is there no clear answer?

Were you able to solve this? Every post I’ve seen about this, even one posted to the rev slider support team 2 days ago, indicate its a permissions issue.

No I still can’t import or select a style from the gallery (even the data provided) for the sliders.
