When a new member clicks on the link in his email, the error message “invalid activation key” appears and requires input of an activation key. The strange thing is that the user can still activate his account by logging in. I need to know how to fix this, as I want the extra security of email confirmation/activation and new users won’t know they can still activate the account by bypassing the key.

I am using the Sweetdate child theme so don’t know if the issue is there in the default wp theme.

I know that but for the debugging procedure you should test, if you encounter the same issue using a WordPress default theme it means that this issue isn’t related to sweetdate theme and you should ask about that on the buddypress forums, another alternative it’s to disable all plugins excluding buddypress and checking again if still encounter the issue.

The activation works when I disable My WP Backup plugin. Is there a way to get it to work while that plugin is activated?

Maybe it’s a problem between that plugin and buddypress and we cannot fix that’s since it’s not a theme problem, so please test with the plugin activated and the default wordpress theme and see if you encounter same issue

Hello again. I now get “activation key invalid” when it’s a hotmail address. Is there a fix for this?

If you see that with default theme, it means that has nothing to do with KLEO and there it’s a BuddyPress problem or a compatibility issue between BuddyPress and other plugin

    Let me know
