Hi,
I have changed the theme of my buddypress wwebsite to Kleo, but now i have an issue with profile pictures. When users upload a profile picture, they have to crop it. The problem is that the image is not displayed, so you’re unable to crop. The picture just shows as a dot.

March 20, 2018 at 02:15 #192383wholisticParticipantHi, I have been having the same issue. When a user uploads a picture, it is not visible at all. There is a crop button but you cannot see what you are cropping and when you click on it, it saves the picture cropped not the way you want.
March 20, 2018 at 16:27 #192446Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have looked into this and cannot see any obvious cause on the front-end. I carried out tests locally on a new install of KLEO and also on our demo site and was not able to replicate the same results.
Could you please therefore try the following, test and clear your front-end cache (Ctrl+F5) for each step
Disable any CDN
Disable all caching at the server level
Disable all caching at the WordPress level
Disable all plugins except for BuddyPress, WP Bakery and K Elements (if the issue disappears during this test please enable the plugins one by one – clearing your cache and testing each time until you find the plugin causing the issue)Please let me know the outcome.

March 20, 2018 at 18:49 #192482mwestrikParticipantHi,
the problem appeared to be Jetpack. Disabled the plugin and cropping works again!
March 20, 2018 at 22:20 #192517Kieran_SQModeratorHi @mwestrik,
Glad you found the issue, there are many many settings in JetPack so it may be worth doing a similar test to the above with features turned on or off to find the feature that is the culprit.

Sorry to hear you’re having the same issues – do you have JetPack installed by chance? If not please carry out the above tests from my earlier reply and let me know your results.
All the best,
Kieran

March 20, 2018 at 23:48 #192524wholisticParticipantHi,
I do have the Jetpack plugin installed. However, it is managed by WordPress.com and I cannot turn it off. Any other suggestions?March 21, 2018 at 00:01 #192526Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I would suggest going through the settings of JetPack and enabling / disabling the features, clearing your cache(s) and testing each setting to see if there is a specific option that is causing the conflict.

March 21, 2018 at 00:50 #192531wholisticParticipantI found the Jetpack option that was preventing the pictures from showing 🙂
——–
Lazy load imagesImprove your site’s speed by only loading images visible on the screen. New images will load just before they scroll into view. This prevents viewers from having to download all the images on a page all at once, even ones they can’t see.
———
Once I turned it off, it solved the issue. Thank you very much!I have another question. I noticed that some buttons under members profiles look weird, not being completely around the text of the button. Do you know what might be causing it? See screenshots below.

Thanks for letting me know about the cause within JetPack. I can see on GitHub that they’re working on allowing users to define exclusions via PHP. Once they’ve released a supported method I will look at adding an exclusion for this page to make it compatible.
With regards to your other questions raised, I am unable to assist within this ticket as it’s off topic and the ticket belongs to another user. Please continue the discussion in your existing ticket or open a new ticket if required.
All the best,
