I would like to use this theme only as a blog type for students. Is it possible to disable the function comments, so students cannot react/comment on other posts on their profile page?

Thank you for the reply but that doesn’t seem to do the trick. It only disables the comments on pages, posts & portfolio.
In this case I want to disable commments on status updates on the profile pages.Is it possible?
