Hello: My theme crashed yesterday because of apparent conflict with the new WP classic editor plugin. I clicked on a color change in styling, and the theme reverted to default. I decided to completely reload the theme file. After doing so, I set the API key back up for updates. Now, when I click on the update download on my dashboard, I get this message – An error occurred while updating Kleo: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
How do I fix this so I can update the theme file?

August 17, 2018 at 17:04 #206696RaduModeratorHi,
There might be a envato server problem, as a workaround you can use the manual update solution : https://archived.seventhqueen.com/kleo/article/updating-the-theme
You can re-try again now the auto update maybe now it works.
Cheers

The error message says that “a valid URL was not provided.” I did in fact provide a valid URL. This is a basic function that has always worked in the past. I recently changed to a https from http, could this be the problem? Because my second KLEO site is doing the same thing.
I sent Envato an email and I’m awaiting a response from them if this problem is their responsibility.
The thing that instigated the site crash problem was apparently the WP “classic editor” plugin and it seems irresponsible on the part of WP to include this in an update if it is not compatible with widely used themes. I’ve been using KLEO for a few years now, and when it is working properly, it is a fantastic, easy to use software package. I’m not sure why WP needs to force an editor change. It took me long enough to learn how to use the one we have now! The thing that attracted me to WP and KLEO to begin with, is you don’t need to be technically advanced to learn the processes.
Thank you and I’m looking forward to hearing back from Envato. Have a wonderful day.

The automatic update function has always worked in the past, but is now returning an error saying I am not supplying a valid URL when it is a valid URL. I tried generating a new API key and this did not resolve the problem. I have found numerous complaints about Envato online. If this issue is not resolved, my next step is to file a consumer fraud complaint with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.
August 20, 2018 at 19:26 #206989AbeKeymasterHI, if this isn’t yet resolved please update the theme manually if it is urgent. https://archived.seventhqueen.com/kleo/article/updating-the-theme
Also are you using Gutenberg or the Classic Editor plugin?
Let me know

Thanks for being our customer.August 20, 2018 at 19:34 #206991dudeincoloradoParticipantI am not comfortable attempting to manually update the file on my FTP client and the point is, I should not have to do this. This function has always worked in the past, and with the frequent updates, this function needs to work properly.
The WP Classic Editor plugin is what caused my site to crash and I disabled it. This is not urgent at this time, but I am extremely concerned because of the coming changes to WordPress.
Envato is not going to brush me off. The Colorado AG is looking for internet fraud and I am not going to walk away with no resolution.
August 21, 2018 at 10:29 #207059AbeKeymasterHi, We are conducting some tests with Classic Editor plugin and see what is causing this. Most probable it is some code in the plugin but if I manage to spot it I will let the devs know so they can fix it.
Cheers
