Friends requests are being sent but not received from member to member. Notifications received, friends requests themselves are not there. I’m still working on the site so I registered two fake users test1 and test2 from two different e-mail addresses and sent a friend request from one to another. Notification is there but a friend request itself is not. Also when sending a friend request from admin to a user it is there but when you press either accept or reject none of them work and says “there was a problem accepting / rejecting friend request”. Private messaging work though, friend requests don’t.
Another problem e-mails. When a user registers, admin gets a message, user doesn’t get any e-mail at all.
Please help.
Hello, try by deactivating a few plugins and testing again as it could be a plugin conflict. For emails, try by going to Tools – Buddypress reinstall emails

Hi Laura, I did all you said to do, deactivated all that was possible to deactivate, left activated only minimum plugins that are required for the theme, reinstalled e-mails – same story.
1. friends requests sent but not received, only notification received
2. e-mails on registration don’t work, a user doesn’t get any e-mail
3. “forgot user name/password” on log in doesn’t work, “failure, the e-mail couldn’t be sent”.
I’m so frustrated, what’s the point to work on the site design and filling if the system itself doesn’t work.I found what was the problem about e-mails and fixed it, so now e-mails (including “forgot username/password) work good, but friends requests is still a big issue, trying to find a solution of what could be wrong.
