Activity stream disappears in WordPress dashboard

I am using WP 4.3.1, BP 2.3.3 and Sweet date child theme. Any plugin I want to use besides the ones mentioned before makes my activity stream in the WP dashboard disappear. I am also using bbPress 2.5.8, rtMedia 3.8.19, akismet 3.1.3 and contact form 7 v4.3. All the plugins deactivated (except Buddypress) makes my activity stream appear again, any of the other plugins activated makes it disappear again. I first thought that it was a bbpress issue only, but after systematic troubleshooting it rather seems to be a theme related issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, it may be a memory limit issue, could you try adding this to wp-config.php ? Under “that’s all..”

Hi Laura. I followed your advice and increased the memory limit up to 512M and I set the debug setting to true and I get the following error message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /hermes/bosoraweb076/b2865/ipg.skvirlcom/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-functions.php(147) : runtime-created function on line 1

So it indeed seems to be a memory limit issue but it is not fixed with 512M…

@Laura: I am looking at the error logs generated by the server and I also have a lot of:
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /hermes/bosoraweb076/b2865/ipg.skvirlcom/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/classes/class-bp-xprofile-field-type-multiselectbox.php on line 126

Can it be related to the above issue or is this something else ?

Hello, i think you should contact your hosting provider about that, you have required plugins, nothing seems wrong, so this issue its related to the server, please contact them about that.

Hi @Laura. I already had contacted them. Instead of a shared server they are proposing a VPS plan. Do you think that is a good idea ? If so, do you have any suggestions for good VPS providers besides iPage ?

Hello, i would suggest hostgator plan, because using a shared hosting you can run multiple sites, i have a shared hosting there, baby one, and have around 4 websites running perfectly 🙂
