Add an item to the item-list-tabs

I would like to add additional icons to the group menu (see attachments).  I have Buddypress installed with the Kleo theme.  I was able to add submenu items (News and Profile) to Pages, but that is not what I want.  I want News and Profile to be an icon like Activity, Events, etc.  How can I do this?
