Adding sidebars…

I’d like to be able to add a sidebar with widgets on the left side of the BP activity page.  Can you point me in the direction to make this possible?

Hello, the sitewide activity page or the user profile activity?
For the activity directory, you can change the layout at Theme options – Buddypress, for the profile activity there is not an options for this right now

Along the same lines I would like to add a widget area at the top of the page listed below. I want to display a map, via widget in the area just above the search bar.
