Im running multisite, along with custom author link to redirect author link to a website listed in user information.
I want the author link (which now directs to their buddypress profile) to instead direct to the author page – or, as a better option, to direct to a website listing in the information so I wont need to use the custom author link plugin.
How can I change the current setup, of author meta link directing to buddypress profile – to link to one of the ways above?
thanks!

If the plugin you already say you have doesn’t fulfill your needs, and you don’t have programming skills then you should probably hire a developer to build such a feature.
Hope you understand that this is not related to our theme.
Let me know if I can help you with something else.

I dont necessarily want the author link to go to a custom url – as I said, I have a plugin for that. Im simply wanting the author link (as displayed in the post meta information) to NOT go to the authors buddypress profile.for example, now – the author meta information, points to /members/username
Im wanting the author meta information to instead use the_author to point to /author/nameI wasnt sure exactly how deep the coding was for this, whether it could simply be changed with a function reference, or if I would just need to change each link on each page, for each link, that I wanted to revert back to the default wp method of displaying author page links.
thanks

So you should just go to pages and rename the “Members” page to “Author”, and be sure the slug also changes. This will automatically update any profile related links.
Let me know if this helped you.
