Automatic login for new users

Hello,

Is there a way to automatically direct new registrations to their profile page for completion without having to use the e-mail activation link to login first?

Alot of my new users were sitting in pending and I manually approved them but they are not showing on the members page or search.

Can you please help with these 2 issues?
