Is there already this feature on the theme?
If not, what would integrate most eloquently with the theme?
Thanks!
November 13, 2014 at 15:49 #35317KamalModeratorHello,
The feature you are looking for is not theme related. It is mostly related to the BuddyPress plugin. Therefore, you can get best answer to your question if you ask it in their forum. However, as far as I am concerned, buddypress does not support mass email sending. rather they have a “send sitewide notice” system. You can use it for your purpose. And I can tell you about a plugin which can be used to send mass email to all member. You can try this . I hope this plugin will give you good result. Please let me know if you succeed. 🙂
Thanks,

April 13, 2015 at 17:49 #54205alvedonParticipantHi,
When you log in to the site with your admin account and go to messages>create, there is an option that says “this is a notice to all users”. You can use that option to send the same messages to all users.
April 13, 2015 at 19:08 #54225sharmstrModerator@alvedon, the question wasn’t how to send the notice. it was how to make a url in the noticed clickable.
@andrepc1876 Add the a href tag to itCOPY CODE<a href="http://www.google.com">google</a>

April 13, 2015 at 19:10 #54226alvedonParticipant@sharmstr I answered the first question asked by @creativesinside.
April 13, 2015 at 20:51 #54252mitchcanParticipantI think there is a distinction between ‘message’ and ’email’ – the OP asked about ‘messaging,’ which is doable in the system as @alvedon mentioned, and I am currently testing a plugin that does Mass Messaging. It’s outdated and unsupported (always makes me nervous) but it still works.
But I’d like to hear the plugin that @kamal is referencing, which he said does “mass email to all members” – that would be helpful for some things we are doing. A ‘message’ to the site that is then auto forwarded to the member email would be great, if such a feature exists.
Thanks!
April 13, 2015 at 21:05 #54254sharmstrModeratorAt one point, this worked https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-users/ for buddypress. Which makes sense because buddypress users are WP users.
Also, @kamal hasnt been around for a long time.

April 13, 2015 at 21:10 #54255mitchcanParticipantExcellent, hadn’t seen that one, I’ll look to test it too. Thanks.
Didn’t know Kamal was not there, ooops. Oh well, as long as YOU’RE still there, everything will be fine. 🙂
April 13, 2015 at 22:50 #54279sharmstrModeratorLets us know if it works 🙂
