Bouncing on Show More/Show Less in Group pages

The Show More/Show Less button ‘bounces’ closed – it doesn’t stay open on Group Pages for “Show More” – here’s an example:

This happens in both Firefox and Chrome.

Any ideas?

The jquery that makes that happen is located in /kleo/buddypress/js/buddypress.js and in /kleo/buddypress/js/buddypress.min.js

Your site should only be loading one of those. For some reason its loading both. I can tell you that wpengine recently made a change because some of the core buddypress files weren’t being added in groups and on the activity pages. Maybe whatever they changed is causing both of those files to load.

I checked with wp-engine and this was their answer:

I do see now the double buddypress.js files being called. Both look to be coming from your theme, in /wp-content/themes/kleo/. I’d recommend trying to comment out one of the following:

http://healthcomspringboard.org/wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/js/buddypress.js?ver=2.3.0
http://healthcomspringboard.org/wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/js/buddypress.min.js?ver=4.2.2

Does this make sense? Can you help me figure out which file to comment one of these out from?

I dont have a solution. All I have is a history lesson regarding buddypress js files and wpengine.

So, if you’ve added the js files using this function: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/documentation/kleo#wp-engine

Then you can remove it so it only loads one set of files, but it will probably break other things.
