I was just wondering if there were any plans for the Kleo theme to support post thumbnails/in-post images in the buddypress activity feed (and if it’s already possible how to go about it).

Using rtMedia you have posibility to attach an image to your activity post update, but make sure that the option is set to be on from wp-admin -> rtmedia -> settings -> Allow user to comment on uploaded media -> CHECK that option

RT Media, as far as I know, only does manual image insertions and that’s not quite what I’m looking to do.

Unfortunately we don’t have a quick fix for to provide to you and this is not a easy to acheive and it will require some time to implement such as function, please search/ask this on the buddypress forums maybe this solution is already provided there.
