ParticipantHi
How can I remove certain aspects of the user’s profile page on Buddypress. For example, I don’t need a ‘Groups’ section, and I don’t want the section which shows when a user posted something or uploaded something. Because I’m running this as purely a dating website, I want to disable some of Buddypress’ menu/functionality.
Many thanks

ModeratorHello, please try by going to Settings > Buddypress then disable the Groups and Activity functions 🙂

ParticipantThanks Laura. Is it possible for users to search based on distance from where they live e.g. 5 miles from a zip code, rather than in a particular town?

ModeratorHello, yes you can use GEO My WP plugin that has an integration for Sweetdate 🙂

ParticipantHi Laura, how is it possible for me to add a feature such as ‘Send Wink’ on Sweetdate?

ModeratorHello, you could try to use this plugin and using Loco Translate you could change the work Poke to “Send Wink” https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-poke/

ParticipantThanks again, I’ve tried that plugin but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the my version of WordPress (4.31), unless it’s installed incorrectly. Do you know another plugin which might help?
Could you also please help me with the following:
1) How can I have an ‘Online’ link on the main menu, which will show online men or women (but not both), depending on what you’ve stated in your profile you’re looking for?
2) I’d like an ‘Advanced Search’ link also on the main menu, which will go straight to a page with search criteria (defined maybe in the Sweetdate -> Buddypress -> Horizontal Form settings). On these settings, I’d also like the ‘Looking for a ‘ field to remain at the value which the user sets it when they register, so they don’t have to specify again they are looking for a man or woman.
3) Do you have any recommendations for a ‘Who Viewed Me’ plugin & ‘Add user to Favourites’ plugin? Many thanks

ModeratorHello, what about https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-compliments/ ?
1) You can have a page with online members template 🙂 I can do this for you if you share admin credentials
2) You can use the page Members and add it to your menu, then change the menu item name to Advanced Search, for the value, its not possible right now.
3) You could try

ParticipantThanks Laura, the compliments plugin works great! Please could you create the online members template for me? My login details are:

User/Pass: info_66uokt9a / hac1N$XBv9YCOWI1Also, do you know if it’s possible to disable ‘Friends’ (I’d prefer to use a favourites system rather than mutual friends)?
And do you know of an ‘Add to Favourites’ plugin? I’ve installed the following plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-followers/ but other users are able to see who a user has for his/her favourites, and who has favourited him/her. I’d like it to remain private, so only the user knows can see his/her favourites.
Many thanks.

ParticipantHi again Laura, I’ve created a shortcut to some Buddypress menu items (e.g. Messages, Notifications) in the top menu, for easy navigation once a member is logged in. However, once you click on this, the member’s profile always shows up underneath (picture, details etc), together with the Buddypress menu underneath. I don’t see the need to show a member their picture & details on every page they view (they know what they look like after all 🙂 ), can I remove this and the standard Buddypress menu underneath, so that if someone clicks on Messages on the top menu, all they see underneath is their messages?
