Buddypress Group Catagory/Tag View

Hi All,

I just wondered if there was any straightforward way of simply being able to display Buddypress Groups by category or tag?

For example – If someone creates a group related to the ‘Environment’, I would simply like to display say the ‘Top 10’ ‘Environment’ Groups on the ‘Environment Page’.

Buddypress doesnt have a way to classify groups. Looks like there are a few plugins that will allow you to add taxonomies to groups, but I’ve never used them. If they work, you’ll still have an issue with determining “Top 10”. What’s the criteria? The number of members? The number of posts? (hypothetical)

Oh, and you should ask on the BP forum. More users there so you might get a better response.

Thanks for your quick response.

Is it fair to say then, that the Kleo Dev/s have nothing in the pipeline on this at present? I’, just trying to confirm that nothing is planned so I don’t end up looking for a workaround unnecessarily.

If not, the best alternative seems to ‘BuddyPress Groups Extras’. I’ll test this shortly.
