Buddypress Members and Search

Currently have theme installed on site and all essential plugins installed that I am wanting to use. However, in regards to the BP Member Search, I have added a test user to try to experiment with. When I type the person’s name I am looking for, it doesn’t yield any results. I have checked to ensure that It is looking by name and state, which are two custom fields that I created.

Since this is a client site, this is absolutely the one feature that I need to work since we will be listing over 500 nurses on there which we will need for various people to be able to search for.
