Hello,
it seems this question has been asked before, but i cannot view the reply… so here it goes again.. I am trying to eliminate all the options from the buddypress menu but they seem to be duplicate. I only want to have the link to profile and logout links in the Buddypress menu.. or ideally have that menu merge with the main menu.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

May 17, 2017 at 22:04 #161778neuromantParticipantI solved it by editing the Top Right Header Menu in the Menus section. The trick is you have to have at least one element in the menu, otherwise it resets to the default menu that includes all the Buddypress options. I solved it by just leaving the Logout item and nothing else for that menu.
Hope this helps @toneee

What I discovered was that I didn’t actually have a menu called “Right Header Menu” and none of the three menus in the system were assigned to that menu either. I created a new menu and assigned it to the Right Header Menu as you suggested. It worked perfectly!
There’s only one problem: some of the default items use virtual links that aren’t real pages. My first thought was to use WordPress’ trusty Custom Links option; however, that won’t work because the virtual URL incorporates the BuddyPress member’s username. For example, http://mydomain.com/members/my-username/profile/. The Custom Links option will go to any link you want, but that link changes for every user.
How did you address that?

The BuddyPress Menu Type wasn’t visible in Appearances > Menu. To turn it on, I had to select Screen Options in the upper-right corner of the page and an entire set of checkboxes slide out. The BuddyPress checkbox must be selected and it will magically appear under Pages and along with the others (i.e. Posts, Custom Links, etc.). From there, you may gleefully add the BuddyPress links you want and voila!
This can be marked as resolved! lol
