I have installed KLEO in Romanian on a new site. Most of the translations in the buddypress ro_RO file are used.
However, the string “Your account was activated successfully! You can now log in with the username and password you provided when you signed up.” remains in english no matter what i tried (i am using Loco Translate and i confirm that there is a romanian translation available for that string… it’s simply not used by the theme).
Please advise on how to fix this.
March 28, 2016 at 17:52 #113130RaduModeratorHi,
Make sure that the language files are located here : wp-content/languages/ not here wp-content/themes/kleo/languages/ if the lang files are in theme you should move it to wp-content/languages/
The strings can be changed by using loco translate plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/
You will need to go to the plugin dashboard and in Kleo section add new language, choose your language, and if you are asked where you want to save the language files choose global language directory ( wp-content/languages/ ) then press SYNC button then search for that string and translate it and press save.
If the strings that are you looking for are not found in kleo try to search it on buddypress.
Cheers

As i already said, most of the strings in the Buddypress RO-RO file _ARE ALREADY_ being used, so i guess there is no problem with using the translation file.
The language file is already in wp-content/languages/plugins/ and i already use loco translate.
My guess is that there is something hardcoded
March 29, 2016 at 17:48 #113304xnd_wohParticipantLet me try to rephrase my problem: i have loco translate, i have the buddypress language file installed in wp-content/languages/plugins, most of the translated strings are displayed correctly; however, there is one string which seems to be hardcoded in the /activare page: “Your account was activated successfully! You can now log-in with the…”. This string seems to be hardcoded in english.
March 30, 2016 at 16:41 #113532xnd_wohParticipantAlso, same problem here: http://www.taticifericiti.ro/blog/ -> the read more button does not translate although Loco translate shows that there is a translation available for this string in KLEO section.
March 30, 2016 at 19:17 #113636RaduModeratorHi,
Please backup your buddypress language files ( buddypress-ro_RO.po,buddypress-ro_RO.mo ) from wp-content/languages/plugins and replace it with the attached files
Let me know if the activation string will appear in romanian language
Regarding the read more button please let me know where the theme language files are ? if should be in wp-content/languages not in wp-content/languages/themes/
Cheers

April 10, 2016 at 09:44 #115471AbeKeymasterHi there, I will do some tests on your site since on our tests the translations are fine. Please keep the access to the files on your server.
Sorry for any delays

If i rename or remove activate.php, the translation is fine. What should i do next? I presume the theme is not supposed to work without activate.php. Will you send me a corrected file?
April 11, 2016 at 18:48 #115758AbeKeymasterThat is great news if it works with the file renamed or removed. Will get back right away with the fix

The string was a bit different that the one from BuddyPress and that is why it wasn’t translated.
Now it will be fine and the change will be available in the next update coming this week.
Cheers
